  • Follow legal requirements for the responsible sale or service of alcohol under the applicable state or territory law, including legal drinking age, hours of operation, responsible service practices and the consequences of non-compliance; accurately recognise indicators of intoxication; and apply refusal-of-service and house procedures.

Knowledge evidence

To complete the subject requirements safely and effectively the individual has been able to:

  • Explain the public health and safety rationale for responsible service; identify what constitutes a standard drink across beverage types; and describe appropriate, non-confrontational means of assistance where erratic drinking patterns are identified.
